“Currently, the highest levels in West Jakarta are in Cengkareng and Kembangan. In Cengkareng there are RW12, RW13, and RW16,” the Chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police said when visiting Kampung Tangguh Jaya (Resilient Village) in RW 01, South Tanjung Duren, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, Saturday (06/19).
The Chief of West Jakarta Regional Police explained judicial operations need to be encouraged in the two sub-districts because of the dense population there. This means that the risk of transmission is quite high.
“This judicial operation will make the public understand that the current condition is not good,” the two-star general explained.
In addition to the judicial operation as a prevention effort, the Chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police also mentioned his team will strengthen the 3T (testing, tracing, and treatment) efforts for the people in the two red zones. The swab test will be held at the Kampung Tangguh Jaya posts in the two sub-districts.
Chief of West Jakarta Metro Resort Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ady Wibowo, said that his team had prepared around 8,000 swab test kits. All the kits will be distributed at each police station, including the Cengkareng and Kembangan police stations.
“So we got the swab kit from the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police. Later we will distribute it to the Sector Police as needed,” the Chief of West Jakarta Metro Resort Police explained on the same occasion.
The Police, Jakarta Metropolitan Government, and Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are again carrying out judicial operations after the spike of Covid-19 cases in the capital city. In the last three days, the increase in new cases has always been above four thousand per day. Today, Saturday (06/19), is the highest daily number of cases during the pandemic that hit Jakarta, with 4,895 positive people.
