The Head of Gowa Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Reonald Simanjuntak says that MT forced his own daughter to have an intercourse with him at 01.15 am.
“MT is said to have turned on after watching adult videos he collected in his phone,” says the police chief on Sunday (12/29/2024).
Furthermore, he said that as a result of the incident, the victim who was known to live with the perpetrator, experienced deep trauma. On the other hand, MT has already been apprehended by the police
In being held accountable for his actions, the perpetrator was charged with multiple articles. Namely Article 81 paragraph (1) Jo Article 76D, Article 82 Jo Article 88 Jo Article 76E of Law No. 17 of 2016 concerning the Stipulation of Perppu No. 1 of 2016 (Second Amendment to Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection), and/or Article 6 letter c of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 12 of 2022 concerning Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence.
“The perpetrator is threatened with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years,” he explained.
He also mentioned that his party is committed to providing assistance to the victim and taking steps to restore her psychological condition.
“Gowa Police appeal to the public to play an active role in reporting all forms of sexual violence that occur in their surroundings,” he concluded.
