Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. The Supreme Court (MA) is set to temporarily suspend Rudi Suparmono, the former Chief Judge of the Surabaya District Court, following his indictment in a bribery and gratification case tied to the acquittal of Ronald Tannur.
MA spokesperson Yanto announced on Wednesday (15/1/2025) that the suspension proposal would be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto once the court receives the official detention notice from the Attorney General’s Office.
“The Chief Justice will act upon receiving the official notice of Mr. R’s detention and will propose his temporary suspension as a judge to the President,” he said during a press briefing, referring to Judge Rudi.
The Supreme Court maintained its commitment to supporting a transparent, fair, and accountable legal process. Yanto also urged court officials nationwide to maintain professionalism, integrity, and honesty amidst this case.
Judge Rudi was detained on 14 January 2025, after investigations revealed he received SGD 63,000 in bribes. The scheme involved lawyer Lisa Rahmat, who is currently on trial, and former Supreme Court official Zarof Ricar. Both are implicated for facilitating the payment and arranging the judicial panel in the controversial acquittal.
