In press release, the Head of Public Affairs of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police explained the motive of the perpetrator was because he felt hurt and held a grudge against the victim. Several times the perpetrator wanted to reconcile with the victim’s grandchild, Susanti, but the victim never let him approach the child.
“In the disclosure of this case, the Kapuas Resort Police succeeded in arresting the suspect IT (31) and securing evidences, a machete without sheath with wooden handle, a unit of Yamaha MX King motorcycle, a torn house dress covered with blood,” the Head of Public Affairs Division of Central Kalimantan Regional Police explained.
For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 340 in conjunction with Article 338 in conjunction with Article 351 paragraphs (2) and (3) of the Criminal Code with the threat of capital punishment or life imprisonment.
The Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Police also added that the Chief of Central Kalimantan Regional, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, expressed his appreciation to the Kapuas Resort Police for their success in uncovering the case.
