Number of villages in Tangga Buntung area, PSI Lautan Street, 36 Ilir Village, Gandus District, Palembang, South Sumaetra, which were suspected of being used as place of drug abuse and trafficking were raided by joint team of Palembang City Resort Police, supported by the Mobile Brigade Unit of South Sumatra Regional Police.

Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri S said in the previous raid, April 11, 2021, his team had arrested 59 male and six female suspects with 1.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine as evidence. Apparently, there are still some people who are involved in drug trafficking and abuse.

“So today, our team has once again carried out raids,” the Chief of South Sumatra Police explained.

In the raid, six suspects were arrested from number of villages in Tangga Buntung area.

The suspects are Hairul (37) resident of Lr Manggis, Irwan Darmawan (38) resident of Lr Cek Latah, Jefri (23) resident of Lr Gayam, Rohana (47), MS (17), and Ahmad (18) resident of Lr Istipada Mosque with evidence of 1.82 grams of methamphetamine.

The six suspects were arrested by the ambush team of Drugs Crime Unit of Palembang City Resort Police with the back-up of fully-armed of Mobile Brigade Unit of South Sumatera Regional Police. The suspects then would face legal process according to the existing law.

According to Chief of Sumatera Regional Police, the raid to the drug village is proof of his seriousness in eradicating illicit goods in the area.

In addition to promoting police operations, his party also expects public participation as the front line in eradicating drug crimes.
