Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. The Directorate General of Immigration has deported a Saudi man after he assaulted the caretaker of Al-Muqsith Mosque in Cisarua, Bogor, on 12 January 2025.
Yuldi Yusman, the Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement, revealed on Friday (17/1/2025) that the man, identified as MA, had overstayed his visa since 8 January 2025.
He entered Indonesia on a Visa on Arrival (VoA) on 10 December 2024. He violated Article 78 of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, which penalizes overstays, as well as Article 75 for disrupting public order.
The assault occurred when MA refused to remove his shoes in the mosque’s sacred area.
The incident, recorded on CCTV, went viral on social media, according to antaranews.com.
While classified as a minor assault, it led to MA’s detention by immigration authorities.
