The spokesperson of Densus 88 Counterterrorism Unit, Senior Superintendent Aswin Siregar, says that BI was arrested as he was the member of Anshor Daulah in Central Java. BI also revealed about to commit terrorism act in the meantime.
“BI was about to plan a terrorist act as he is also a member of Central Java Anshor Daulah,” said Aswin in his official statement on Tuesday (11/5/2024).
On the other hand, ST was arrested for spreading the radical ideology through his speeches. He also often provokes and calls to carry out acts of terror.
“Acting as an ideologue in a small study of the Anshor Daulah Central Java group,” he said.
Furthermore, suspect SQ was arrested because he often carried out propaganda and provocation to carry out acts of terror through social media. SQ is also said to be a member of the Central Java Anshor Daulah group.
“Actively uploading propaganda narratives related to Daulah and provocation to carry out acts of terror on social media,” he explained.
He further explained that during the arrest, investigators confiscated a number of pieces of evidence including books on jihad and 20 sharp weapons consisting of 9 knives and 11 machetes.
“A message and a reminder to the people of the Ansharuh Daulah, in accordance with the court’s decision, the group has been designated as a terrorist group. Public should be aware of this and not be associated with the group,” he explained.
