Japan also committed to donating a high-speed patrol vessel to Indonesia under its official security assistance framework. The vessel will be built by Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., fully funded by Japan via the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

While specifics of the defense technologies were not disclosed, Japan has recently proposed joint development of Mogami-class stealth frigates.

The bilateral talks, attended by top officials from both nations, followed a private meeting between the two leaders at the palace.
