Police Tracks Down Ride-Hailing Driver Suspected of Raping Chinese Tourist in Bali

Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Denpasar.  The Bali Regional Police Criminal Investigation Directorate’s Violent Crimes Unit is tracking down a ride-hailing driver suspected of sexually assaulting a Chinese tourist.

“The Jatanras Unit is ahunting the suspect down, believed to be an online motorcycle taxi driver,” said Bali Police Head ofPublic Relations Senior Superintendent Jansen Avitus Panjaitan on Tuesday (7/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The victim, a 33-year-old woman from China identified as YA, was vacationing in Bali and staying at Villa Casa de Kayla, Tumbak Bayuh, Mengwi, Badung. The rape reportedly occurred in the early hours of 1 January 2025.

Further details regarding the case and the suspect’s identity remain undisclosed as authorities continue their investigation and manhunt.
