Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Serang. The police are investigating the case of the discovery of a baby in a cardboard box in front of a shophouse in Kampung Ciajeng, Cijeruk Village, Kibin District, Serang Regency, to find out the perpetrator and hold them accountable for their actions.
Cikande Sector Police Chief, Police Senior Inspector Tatang, said that the baby girl is currently receiving treatment at the Drajat Prawiranegara Serang Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
“Because there was a broken umbilical cord due to being pulled, she was then referred to the Drajat Prawiranegara Serang Regional Hospital,” he said, as reported by the monitorindonesia on Thursday (1/16/2025).
On this occasion, he explained that the discovery of the baby girl in front of the shop was first discovered by local residents who were about to clean up at around 06.45 am.
“The witness saw a cardboard box that was initially thought to be trash, but when it was lifted, it turned out that there were legs. And when it was opened, there was a baby wrapped in a rag,” he said.
The residents then took the baby to the Negara Village clinic which was then handled by a local midwife, and then taken to the Kibin Health Center.
He said that his party was collecting evidence and witness statements to uncover the perpetrator who allegedly deliberately threw away the poor baby.
“We are collecting various pieces of evidence and also witness statements in order to conduct an investigation,” he explained.
On that occasion, he also appealed to the public who knew the whereabouts of the alleged perpetrator who threw away the baby to report it to the police.
“We expect cooperation so that this case can be quickly revealed, so once again I appeal to the public who know to report to us,” he concluded.
