Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Padang Pariaman. Padang Pariaman Sub-regional Police foiled an attempt to smuggle more than one kilogram of methamphetamine and thousands of suspected ecstasy pills at Minangkabau International Airport, West Sumatra, on Sunday (29/12/2024).
Aviation Security officers detained a passenger after noticing suspicious items during routine checks. The suspect and the evidence were handed over to Padang Pariaman Police for further investigation.
“The suspect was arrested with what appears to be over a kilogram of methamphetamine,” said Padang Pariaman Police Chief Superintendent Ahmad Faisol Amir, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect was traveling to Jakarta. However, police are still working to determine the drugs’ origin and final destination.
Chief Faisol noted that the exact weight of the seized drugs is being verified. Authorities are withholding the suspect’s identity as the investigation unfolds.
