tribratanews.polri.go.id – Director of Traffic (Ditlantas) Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo admitted that there were still traffic violators recorded by the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) camera who escaped the fine because not all images could be verified by officers.
“Of course, of the thousands of pictures that have been captured, not all of them can be processed into a ticket. Because from the captured images, we have to verify first,” he explained at Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday (5/4/22).
Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that many of the plate numbers of the vehicles that committed traffic violations were not recorded by the police. For example, he said, there was a white sedan that was recorded by ETLE, but in the police database, it was a black minibus.
“We can’t send the data. It means that the vehicle could be suspected of using a fake plate number,” explained the Director of ditlantas (Dirlantas).
Then there are also blurry images that were captured by ETLE. This is thought to be due to vibrations at the camera installation location. Especially on toll roads, he said, many large vehicles cause vibrations. “So when a large truck passes by, the camera shakes,” explained Dirlantas.
Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo explained that so far his party had taken action against at least 128 car drivers who violated the maximum speed limit on toll roads using the electronic ticket system or ETLE. This amount was obtained from data recorded by the Police for three days of ETLE implementation on toll roads.
