Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. Navy Fleet Commander, Rear Admiral Denih Hendrata, revealed that a Navy member involved in the shooting incident on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road carried a firearm due to his role as an aide.
He said on Monday (6/1/2025) that aides, such as suspect Sargeant AA, follow a standard operating procedure that includes carrying weapons for self-defense and protecting the officials they escort.
The firearm in question was a standard issue belonging to the Navy.
Commander Denih emphasized that the aide’s role is to ensure the safety of the official, especially in critical situations. He also noted that the shooting incident stemmed from a prior altercation where Sergeant AA was reportedly attacked by around 15 people.
The incident, which resulted in one death, was linked to a dispute over a rented vehicle, with further investigation underway.
Commander Denih expressed condolences to the victim’s family.
