Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. A Navy officer has been implicated in a shooting on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, which left one person dead, which stemmed from a dispute over a rented Honda Brio.
Banten Police Chief Inspector General Suyudi Ario Seto said on Monday (6/1/2025) that the case began as a rental car embezzlement involving a suspect, identified as IH, now a fugitive, who used fake documents to secure the car.
Suspect IH later sold the vehicle to First Sergeant AA, a Navy officer, for Rp 40 million. Using a GPS tracker, the rental provider traced the car to a rest area on the toll road, where an altercation occurred, escalating to a fatal shooting.
The Navy acknowledged the officer’s involvement, stating he was an unwitting buyer.
“He was not a fence but unaware of the car’s disputed status,” said Admiral Maman Firmansyah.
Authorities have questioned 13 witnesses, and the investigation is ongoing.
