Metro Jaya Police to Forcibly Summon Firli Bahuri if He Skips Another Interrogation

Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation has warned that former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Firli Bahuri will be forcibly summoned if he fails to attend future questioning sessions.

Under the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), suspects who ignore two summonses without valid reasons can be subjected to forced measures. 

“We can bring the suspect in by force or take other necessary actions,” said Senior Superintendent Ade Safri Simanjuntak, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation, on Tuesday (31/12/2024), as reported by antaranews.com.

Although no date has been set for Firli’s next interrogation, he said  that coordination with prosecutors is ongoing to resolve the case quickly. 

“We’ll provide updates, but rest assured, this matter is being handled thoroughly,” Chief Ade Safri added, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Investigators have also coordinated with the KPK to advance the case, with Chief Ade Safri emphasizing that the process will be professional, transparent, and accountable.
