Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have confiscated assets worth Rp 167 billion from an online gambling operation linked to suspects from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.
Twenty-four suspects have been arrested, while four others remain at large.
“We seized various assets, including cash and property, with a total value of Rp 167.9 billion,” said Metro Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto on Monday (25/11/2024).
The seized items include Rp 76.9 billion in cash, blocked accounts holding Rp 29.8 billion, luxury jewelry worth Rp 2.1 billion, 11 properties valued at Rp 25.8 billion, 26 vehicles, and electronic devices such as laptops and smartphones.
Chief Karyoto also noted the seizure of firearms and 250 rounds of ammunition.
In collaboration with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), the police have blocked 3,455 bank accounts and 47 e-commerce accounts belonging to the suspects. As many as 5,146 gambling websites have been flagged for shutdown.
