Iranian Man Arrested for Smuggling Meth in Ceramic Tiles

Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Directorate of Narcotics Investigation arrested an Iranian man, identified as HM (44), for smuggling 4.4 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in ceramic or marble slabs.

“HM was arrested with 4,390 grams of meth as evidence,” said Senior SUperintendent Donald Parlaungan Simanjuntak, the Metro Jaya Police Director of Narcotics, on Tuesday (22/10/2024).

The drugs, shipped from Dubai, were disguised as ceramic tiles and addressed to HM at a hotel in North Jakarta. Upon receiving the package at the hotel on 15 October 2024, HM was immediately arrested by authorities according to antaranews.com.

The arrest followed a controlled delivery operation after officials were tipped off about the suspicious shipment.
