Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency’s Directorate of General Crimes is investigating the possible use of fake traditional land ownership, commonly known as girik, in land certificate applications for the sea fence area in Tangerang, Banten.
Girik is typically used before formal land titles such as Rights to Build, or Hak Guna Bangunan (SHGB) or land ownership, or Sertifikat Hak Milik(SHM), were issued. While a historical document indicates land ownership, girik is not considered a legal title.
“We suspect the documents used in the SHGB and SHM applications were falsified,” said Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, the INP Criminal Investigation Agency;s Director of General Crimes, on Friday (31/1/2025)
The investigation reveals that 234 SHGB certificates were issued to PT Intan Agung Makmur, 20 to PT Cahaya Inti Sentosa, 9 to individuals, and 17 SHM were based on girik, raising suspicions of document fraud.
The police began the investigation after reports surfaced in early January.
“We’ve visited the site and coordinated with relevant ministries and local authorities,” said Chief Djuhandhani, as quoted by antaranews.com.
