Bid TIK Polda Kepri Traffic Corps of Indonesia National Police has confirmed [Covid-19] vaccination requirement for making Driving Liscence (SIM) and Certificate of Good Conduct (SKCK) is fake news or hoax.
“It’s hoax, don’t believe it,” the Head of Driving Liscence Sub-Directorate of Traffic Corps of Indonesia National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Djati Utomo explained in Jakarta.
Currently, there is information mentioning vaccine certificate is required to make SIM and SKCK in Aceh that spread on social media as of July 1, 2021.
Police regretted the hoax as not all Indonesian citizens are vaccinated against Covid-19 yet so the policy is impossible to be implemented.
“Not all Indonesian people are vaccinated,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Affairs of Aceh Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Winardy, emphasised the information mentioning vaccine certificates as requirement for registering SIM and SKCK is untrue.
“We have officially stated that the information is not true,” the Head of Public Affairs of Aceh Regional Police explained.
He also mentioned Aceh Regional Police had not issued any regulations regarding the vaccine mandatory for the administration of SIM and SKCK. Instead, the police encourages people to follow the vaccination program that has been launched by government.’
In fact, Banda Aceh Police held mass vaccination open to the public. In order to encourage people’s interest in being vaccinated, they were given door prizes, from motorbikes, televisions to other attractive prizes.
