Indonesia Wins 2024 AFF Futsal Championship, Defeats Vietnam 2-0

Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta.  Indonesia’s national futsal team achieved the 2024 AFF Futsal Championship title with a 2-0 win over Vietnam in the final held at Terminal 21 Hall in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on Sunday (10/11/2024).

From the outset, Indonesia dominated and pressed high to break Vietnam’s defense. In the 7th minute, Rio Pangestu had a golden opportunity but missed the target. However, just a minute later, Muhammad Syaifullah netted the opening goal for Indonesia with a simple tap-in, making it 1-0.

Vietnam struggled to create chances as Indonesia continued to control the game. Despite further opportunities from Evan Soumilena and Pangestu, the score remained 1-0 at halftime, according to antaranews.com.

In the second half, Vietnam became more aggressive, but Indonesia maintained their structure. With just minutes remaining, as Vietnam pushed forward in a power play, Indonesia countered swiftly, and Rizki Xavier sealed the win with a goal from outside the box, making it 2-0.

The victory marked Indonesia’s second AFF Futsal Championship title under coach Hector Souto, maintaining an undefeated record throughout the competition.
