Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. Minister of Foreign Affairs  Sugiono praised the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel as a crucial step toward peace in Gaza, emphasizing the need for all parties to honor their commitments to maintain stability.

Speaking on Thursday (16/1/2025), he called the truce a positive momentum to prevent further casualties and create conducive conditions, according to antaranews.com.

“This achievement reflects international efforts and must be preserved to ensure lasting peace,” Sugiono said, reaffirming Indonesia’s commitment to supporting Gaza’s recovery through humanitarian aid, support for the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and reconstruction efforts.

The ceasefire, announced by Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, follows months of intensive mediation by Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S. It includes a phased cessation of fighting, the release of hostages, and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from densely populated areas, allowing displaced Palestinians to return home.
