Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa to discuss Indonesia’s BRICS membership follow-up.
“Indonesia is committed to contributing to all BRICS workflows as a new member,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com on Thursday (20/2/2025).
Deputy Minister Arrmanatha expected Brazil’s support in inviting ASEAN to the G20 Summit in South Africa. Minister Vieira, in response, expressed optimism that President Prabowo Subianto would attend the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro in July this year.
They also discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in food security, and agreed to accelerate negotiations on the Indonesia-Mercosur Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IM-CEPA).
