Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) and Australia’s Safeguards and Non-Proliferation Office (ASNO) signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to enhance nuclear cooperation.
“This MoU revitalizes our partnership with BAPETEN, providing a practical framework for nuclear safeguards and security,” said ASNO Director General Geoffrey Shaw.
BAPETEN Executive Secretary Sugeng Sumbarjo emphasized the MoU reflects a shared commitment to non-proliferation and peaceful nuclear use.
The renewed agreement builds on a longstanding collaboration since the first MoU was signed in 2001. Both agencies, founding members of the Asia-Pacific Safeguards Network, aim to strengthen nuclear security across the region.
ASNO ensures Australia meets international non-proliferation obligations, while BAPETEN oversees Indonesia’s compliance through regulations, licensing, and inspections. The partnership underscores mutual respect and dedication to global nuclear safeguards.
