Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has reported that an entire family has been detained for involvement in a drug manufacturing operation uncovered in a luxury home in Serang, Banten, on 27 September, 2024.
BNN Chief Commissioner General Marthinus Hukom emphasized that drug trafficking poses a significant threat to society.
“BNN is committed to being a moral barrier against the spread of narcotics,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..
The drug ring was allegedly managed by Beny Setiawan, a prisoner with a history of drug offenses. Authorities seized evidence totaling 971,000 pills of PCC (Paracetamol, Caffeine, Carisoprodol) and large quantities of other narcotics.
Beny and his family face serious charges under the Narcotics Law, which could result in the death penalty or life imprisonment. He enlisted the help of his wife, children, and son-in-law in the operation, which could produce up to 80,000 pills daily.
Beny claimed he turned to this lucrative business after previous ventures in cooking oil and bottled water failed.
