Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Majalengka. Indonesia National Police (INP)’s Counterterrorism Special Detachment, Densus 88, has arrested four residents of Majalengka, West Java, suspected of involvement in a terrorism network.
The arrests occurred in separate locations on Friday, according to antaranews.com.
“We confirm that Densus 88 arrested four suspected terrorists in Majalengka. The operation was conducted across multiple locations,” said Second Inspector Riyana, the Majalengka Sub-regional Police Head of the Public Information Subdivision, on Saturday (28/12/2024).
The arrests are linked to a terrorism network uncovered in Tasikmalaya, also in West Java, on the same day. Densus 88 also searched the suspects’ residences, with assistance from local police.
Majalengka Police have assured residents of their safety and called for calm amid heightened security ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations.
“We guarantee the city’s security and urge the public to remain composed,” Chief Riyana said.
