Originally scheduled for November 2024, the event was postponed due to last year’s national elections.
“The government prioritized the democratic process, given its critical role in shaping the country’s future,” said Brigadier General Frega Ferdinand Wenas Inkiriwang, head of the ministry’s defense information bureau, at a press briefing on Tuesday (18/2/2025).
The event serves as a key platform for Indonesia to showcase its defense industry and modernize its military capabilities.
“It’s not just about military procurement but also a channel for defense diplomacy,” Chief Frega noted, highlighting its economic potential and possible defense industry partnerships could emerge from the expo.
