Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jayapura. The the joint forces of the Damai Cartenz Task Force 2024 and the Dogiyai Sub-regional Police, arrested Paniai Armed Criminal Group (KKB) leader Jem Magai Yogi, who also serves as Chief of Staff for the West Papua Ar (WPA) Division II Pemka IV Paniai.
The arrest occurred in front of the Dogiyai Regency DPRD office on Wednesday (16/10/2024) at 4.16 pm local time.
Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Head of the Damai Cartenz Task Force 2024, confirmed that Jem Magai Yogi was involved in transporting ammunition from Nabire to Paniai, crossing through Dogiyai Police’s jurisdiction.
“Our team received information about the ammunition transport allegedly carried by Jem Magai Yogi. We intercepted him in Dogiyai and arrested him along with nine others,” said Chief Faizal.
The joint team seized 104 rounds of ammunition, including 56 rounds of 5.56 mm caliber and 48 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber. Jem and the evidence have been secured for further investigation.
Jem Magai Yogi has a criminal record, including firearm theft in 2015 and an armed clash with the Indonesian Military (TNI) in Bibida District in May 2024. He is also the younger brother of Damianus Magai Yogi, the top commander of the West Papua Ar.
