The Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Inspector General Rikwanto together with the Acting Governor of South Kalimantan, Safrizal ZA and the Commissioner of the Indonesian General Commission Election (KPU) monitored the implementation of voting at a number of polling stations during the PSU for the South Kalimantan governor election. One of them is at TPS 07 Pemurus Dalam Sub-District, South Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City.

On this occasion, the Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police stated the security and order situation during the implementation of the PSU for the South Kalimantan governor election was generally conducive and there were no security disturbances that could potentially hinder the implementation of the PSU.

“Until now there has been no turmoil in terms of criminal acts. There are things that have happened but the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) and Integrated Law Enforcement (Gakkumdu) have resolved them directly. So it is certain that the previous problems have been resolved,” the Two-Star General explained.

Rikwanto asserted, in series of stages from the time the Constitutional Court (MK) declared their decision until the re-voting implementation in some areas of South Kalimantan on June 9, the regional leaders communication forum (Forkopimda) of South Kalimantan continued to stick together to maintain the conduciveness of public security and order.

The Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police said with the attention from all stakeholders, including the KPU and the Indonesian Election Supervisory Body for the implementation of the PSU in South Kalimantan, the re-voting was a positive thing.

“Of course the support from Banua community is also important so this re-voting can be implemented properly,” the Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police said.
