The ambulance unit to escort personnel in forest fire extinguishing was officially inaugurated by Chief of Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, at the Karthula Standy Post (Posko Siaga) Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Tuesday (18 May 2021).

The Chief of Central Kalimantan Regional Police mentioned that the Karthula Emergency Preparadness Ambulance and Genose C-19 mobile launched were means for the emergency officers to provide medical response caused by Karhurtla.

“The Karthula Emergency Preparadness Ambulance is equipped wirh Genose C-19 that can detect Covid-19 through exhale. The medical equipment and health workers are from Medical and Health Division (Biddokes) Central Kalimantan Regional Police,”as said by the Chief of Central Kalimantan Regional Police.

He also expected that the innovation would support personnel’s work at the field and the community in fighting forest and land fire in Central Kalimantan.

“Reflected from the land and forest fire in the previous years, personnel worked in the midst of amid of the smoke while putting out fire. So it was possible that they ran out of oxygen and dehidrated as well as having other injuries,” he concluded.
