Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police’s Narcotics Investigation Unit uncovered a synthetic drug manufacturing operation in Depok, West Java, on Saturday (18/1/2025).

Four suspects were arrested in connection with the home-based drug lab, identified as TRW (27), FJ (23), DY (26), and MS (30), according to antaranews.com.

The police discovered that the lab had been producing synthetic tobacco since August 2024, generating an estimated revenue of Rp 12 billion.

“We found that this location was used for producing synthetic tobacco, which was ready to be distributed,” said Superintendent Aditya S.P. Sembiring, the Head of Tanah Abang Police Office.

The suspects were involved in different roles, from production to distribution. Authorities seized evidence such as five kilograms of synthetic powder, three packs of raw tobacco, and production equipment, including hexos funnels and electronic scales.

Following a tip-off, the investigation led to a house in Cisalak Market, Depok, where suspects TRW and FJ were found with synthetic tobacco and phones.

Further investigation directed the team to suspect DY’s residence, where more evidence was recovered, ultimately leading to the arrest of suspect MS, the primary producer.

The suspects face a maximum of 15 years in prison.
