Bali Police Break Up Russian-Led International Prostitution Ring

Bali Regional Police and Badung Sub-regional Police have uncovered an international prostitution network run by two Russian citizens operating a website accessible in 129 countries and 12 cities across Indonesia, including Bali, to advertise and arrange sex work services.

“The suspects offered a selection of women from around the world through their website, with prices ranging from $300 to $350 per session,” said Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya on Monday (13/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The operation came to light after a tip-off led undercover officers to arrange a transaction. 

A raid on 10 January 2025, at a Canggu hotel revealed a Russian sex worker and client. Follow-up investigations led to the arrests of the suspects,  identified as AK (27) and MT (32), at a villa in Banjar Kelod.

They face charges under electronic transaction and human trafficking laws, carrying penalties of 6–15 years imprisonment and fines up to Rp 1 billion. Police have identified 15 sex workers involved in the network.
