tribratanews.polri.go.id – The repackaging of bulk oil into bottled oil is not a trivial case. Police officers uncovered a case of repacking bulk oil into oil packaging in Tirtayasa District, Serang – Banteng. The culprit was from a company of CV Jonjing Pratama who repackaged 3,200 liters of bulk oil into Laban brand packaged oil and sell it for Rp. 20,000/liter.
Another case that was uncovered by the police, with the same method was found at the Pasir Putih oil warehouse, Sawangan – Depok. In the warehouse belonging to PD Bhakti Karya, the police found around 2,300 liters of bulk oil are repackaged into packaged oil with the Wasilah 212 brand.
Bulk oil which was initially sold for Rp. 12,000/liter, will be sold for Rp. 14,000/liter. It was later discovered that the owner of PD Bhakti Karya was a member of the West Java Provincial DPRD.
Repackaging bulk oil into cooking oil is clearly against the law. The practice of repacking bulk oil violates Law no. 18 of 2012 concerning Food and Presidential Regulation Number 71 of 2015 concerning the Storage of Basic Materials and Important Goods.
For this reason, the Indonesian National Police Chief (Kapolri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, warned those who did the repacking. Kapolri also promised to take action against the perpetrators who forged the documents.
As stated by Kapolri on Monday (4/4/2022), there are currently many new brands of packaged oil that have emerged in the market, which was never seen in the market previously.
“We will monitor this and we will take firm action,” said Kapolri.
