The appeal came after a viral video showing a group of Indonesians disturbing the locals in Namba, Osaka.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia Tokyo and Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Osaka urges all Indonesians in Japan to obey the value, norm, habits, and local law,” states the Embassy in their social media post on Monday (9/2/2024).
Indonesians are also urged to maintain public order and the good name of the country, while also maintaining good communication between each other.
Local authorities have the authority to take legal action against foreigners who violates the law in Japan.
“”Don’t let our noble ideals to succeed abroad be hampered by our own behavior. Let’s protect Indonesia’s good name,” said the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo.
