Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Banda Aceh. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has called on authorities in Aceh to rescue Rohingya migrants stranded off the coast of South Aceh.

The migrants, including women and children, have been adrift since Friday.

“We urge the authorities to ensure a safe rescue and landing for these desperate individuals,” said Faisal Rahman, the UNHCR Indonesia’s Protection Associate, on Tuesday (22/10/2024).

A boat carrying 151 Rohingya migrants, including 79 women, 13 men, and 59 children, has been unable to dock due to local resistance. Some migrants were evacuated due to illness, according to antaranews.com..
