Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto has launched a new subsidized housing program under the Fasilitas Likuiditas Pembiayaan Perumahan (FLPP) scheme, aiming to provide three million affordable homes for low-income communities.
Speaking at a press conference at the Presidential Palace on Monday, Prabowo emphasized that the program is a key part of the government’s efforts to expand homeownership opportunities for Indonesians with limited financial resources. He explained that the FLPP scheme, which was first introduced in 2021 through a partnership between the Ministry of Public Works and Housing—now the Ministry of Housing—and state-owned banks, offers significant financial relief for homebuyers.
Through this scheme, eligible buyers can secure homes with a much lower down payment compared to other financing options, with a minimum requirement of just one percent of the house price. The program also ensures that interest rates remain at a maximum of five percent, making monthly mortgage payments more affordable. Additionally, buyers benefit from an exemption from insurance premium fees, further reducing the financial burden of homeownership.
Prabowo reiterated that this initiative is part of the government’s economic priorities for the first quarter of 2025. Alongside the housing program, he also announced ongoing efforts to improve the process of eliminating bad debts for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The announcement followed a closed-door meeting attended by key economic policymakers, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir.
