Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Jakarta. Head of the National Food Agency (NFA), Arief Prasetyo Adi, said that President Prabowo Subianto has instructed that food prices remain stable, with the only exception being harvested dry grain, locally known as GKP, owned by farmers.
Speaking after a limited coordination meeting with Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman and other stakeholders on Monday (17/2/2025), he explained that the directive aims to protect both farmers’ livelihoods and the public’s purchasing power.
He emphasized that all rice milling businesses must comply with the government-set purchasing price of Rp 6,500 per kilogram to ensure the availability of government rice reserves. Current stock at Bulog warehouses stands at 1.9 million tons, as reported by antaranews.com.
Arief acknowledged that some rice millers, particularly in South Sumatra, had been purchasing grain below the government-mandated price. However, after discussions with authorities, they have committed to adjusting their prices in line with government regulations.
To maintain price stability, Arief urged regional administrations to actively participate in securing food supplies, especially ahead of national religious holidays. He has sent directives to governors, mayors, and district heads across Indonesia, instructing them to monitor stock availability, prevent potential supply disruptions, and implement price stabilization measures. He also encouraged interregional cooperation to balance supply between surplus and deficit areas.
