West Java Police Deploy 100 Officers for Parahyangan University Graduation Amid Bomb Threat

Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Bandung.  West JavaRegional  Police deployed 100 officers to secure the graduation ceremony at Paraangan Catholic University in Bandung following a bomb threat sent through a terror letter.

“Around 100 personnel are on standby to ensure the ceremony runs safely and smoothly,” said Senior Superintendent Jules Abraham, West Java Police Head of Public Relations, on Friday (15/11/2024). “This is part of coordination between the police and the university. We have conducted thorough checks across the campus, including classrooms”.

Attendees, including students, staff, and families, faced tighter entrance checks and were issued special identification passes. Only those with passes were permitted entry during the event, according to antaranews.com.

The Bomb Squad unit from the West Java Police Mobile Brigade completed the campus sweep without finding any evidence of an explosive device. 

Despite the absence of a bomb, police have launched an investigation to trace the source of the threat.
