“The circulating video has been altered. It shows footage from a 2021 incident where the KKB set fire to the Kiwirok health center in Bintang Mountains, Papua,” he said on Sunday (26/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The KKB is using the edited video to falsely accuse the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian Military (TNI) of bombing the facility.
According to Chief Faizal, the video was made in collaboration with foreign citizens to create a fake documentary, which has been widely shared on social media.
Chief Faizal also stressed that the KKB is trying to portray themselves as rebels using traditional weapons, despite the fact that they primarily use firearms to target security forces and civilians.
He urged the public to be cautious and carefully assess information before believing such claims.
