Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Surabaya. The East Java Regional POlice have successfully arrested a man with the initials of NK (61) who is the caregiver of an orphanage in Surabaya as the perpetrator behind the sexual abuse case in the orphanage.
“He has been arrested on Friday night,” says the Head of East Java Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Dirmanto on Saturday (2/1/2025).
On the other hand, the East Java Regional Police General Criminal Investigation Director, Senior Superintendent Farman says that the arrest is a follow up to a report from the Legal Aid Consultation (UKBH) of Airlangga University on Thursday (1/30/2025). UKBH reported alleged molestation by the caregiver of an orphanage in Surabaya with the initials NK.
“The victim is a 15-year-old girl who told her story to a relative. Her relative then reported the case to Unair (UKBH) and forwarded it to us,” explained Farman.
Following the case report, police then sent their investigation team to search for and arrest NK who is known as the owner and caregiver of the orphanage.
After examining the suspect, police found that NK also had committed sexual crimes against a number of children living in the orphanage. The female teenager who reported the case was a victim of her sexual abuse for three years.
Allegedly because she could not stand the abuse she experienced and had the opportunity to escape, the victim with the initials S (15) left the orphanage to meet a relative. S then told about the suffering she experienced.
