The Damai Cartenz Task Force and Yalimo Sub-regional Police conducted a crime scene reconstruction on Tuesday (11/2/2025)to investigate the fatal shooting of Brigadier Iqbal Anwar Arif, a Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officer in Hobakma Village, Elelim District, Yalimo Regency, Papua Mountains.
Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, the Head of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, confirmed that the reconstruction involved Nikson Matuan, a member of the armed criminal group (KKB) allegedly linked to the attack.
“This process is crucial in uncovering the incident and establishing the role of each suspect,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Nikson admitted to participating in the incident, which took place on the Trans Wamena-Jayapura highway. The attack was carried out under the command of Askel Mabel.
The reconstruction featured 19 key scenes, detailing the sequence of events—from the perpetrators’ approach to the shooting itself.
