Bid TIK Polda Kepri Traffic Directorate of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police seized 36 intercity buses that violated routes during the Emergency PPKM (Public Activity Restriction Enforcement). Dozens of the interprovince buses are suspected of not departing from the three determined terminals during the Emergency PPKM.

Traffic Director of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yugo, explained that those buses were not departed from three designated terminals. The passengers are also not subjected to travel requirements, so their health conditions are unknown.

“Buses behind us are not departing from the (designated) bus terminals. They departed from the unofficial bus terminals such as Pondok Pinang, Rawa Bebek, et cetera, so the passengers do not bring travel requirements”, Traffic Director said at the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police Headquarter, Jakarta, Saturday (17/7/21).

Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yugo also said that the passengers did not bring vaccine certificates, antigen swab test results, et cetera. “The passengers did not bring vaccine certificate, antigen swab test results, et cetera. This disobedience potentially dangers people not only inside the bus but also on the destination regions”, he explained.

Traffic Director explained that, for the route violations, bus drivers are deemed violating rules stated in the observation card. “Every bus must be determined on where their destination is, which declared on the observation card. In this case, they have not arrived at the destination, so they violate the route”, he said.

Due to two violations, the bus drivers are subjected to tickets, according to Article 308 of Law No. 22 of 2009, with the threat of Rp500,000 of fine or two months in prison.
