226 Foreigners Involved in Crimes in Bali During 2024: Bali Police Chief

Bid TIK Polda Kepri/”>Bid TIK Polda Kepri – Denpasar. Bali Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya, revealed that that 226 foreign citizens  were arrested for various criminal activities in Bali throughout 2024, marking an increase from the previous year’s figure of 194.

At a year-end press conference in Denpasar, he explained that the crimes committed by foreign nationals ranged from general criminal offenses to cybercrime and drug-related offenses. The majority of foreign offenders came from the United States, with 34 arrested, including 14 for general crimes and 20 for drug offenses, according to antaranews.com.

Following the U.S., Australia ranked second with 32 citizens involved in crimes, including theft and assault, while others were implicated in drug trafficking. Russia was third with 28 individuals involved, and the U.K. and Germany followed with 25 and 12 arrests, respectively. In addition, three Filipino nationals were arrested for cybercrimes.

The Bali Police also noted that 228 foreign citizens were victims of crimes during 2024, with theft being the most common offense. Chief Daniel emphasized the impact of foreigners’ involvement in crime on Bali’s society, urging continued vigilance.
